Health Minus Insurance, Pharma and Politicians
What if when a physician through lifestyle interventions was able to get their diabetic patient off three medications, received a percent increase in their insurance reimbursement? I mean they just saved the patients insurance provider $1000 a month easily.
What happens right now when I help a patient go from an A1c of 15.2% (completely out of control diabetes) to an A1c of 5.4%, while getting them off metformin, lovastatin and Trulicity?
I get a letter in the mail asking why the patient is not filling their prescriptions anymore. And then a letter saying “to make sure our clients are receiving the best care, we need you to send us the last year of chart notes for the patient for us to audit.”
The more medications I add the less my chart notes get audited. When I stop diagnosing diabetes because the patients blood sugar has been normal for 2 years with no medications, I can expect to get a letter asking for chart notes.
I don’t understand what the relationship between insurance, government and pharma is but there is something we are not being told.
A patient has triglycerides of 2000 (blood looks like whole milk), we get him to 140 via intensive food, physical activity, stress reduction measures and supplementation. Instead of getting a letter saying thank you for saving us from having pay for three medications every month for the rest of his life and the eventual triple bypass surgery, followed by nursing care for dementia, the insurance company asks why am not prescribing these drug (they give a list of 5 drugs) since I diagnosed him with Hypertriglyceridemia.
Make it make sense.
Every humans deserves the opportunity to make a truly informed decision about their healthcare.
The number of times patients have said I had no idea changing my food routine could get me off 3 acid blocking medications. I had no idea that adjusting what I ate could affect my psoriasis. I had no idea, I have been to doctors multiple times a year for decades and not one ever said the reason you are experiencing chronic anxiety and lethargy could be related to your food inputs. Just another pill. No letter from their “health” insurance company discussing the latest research on food and physical activity and how adjustments in these matters will have the greatest impact on their health trajectory.
Isn’t that shocking!?
The system is not just flawed it is completely broken. It is in shambles!
To squeeze all the goodness and exceptional health opportunity available to us we must choose a unique healthcare model. Going standard for non acutely life threatening health challenges is going to leave you powerless, loaded down with patented pills, copays and fear of what shoe will drop next.
On the contrary taking total responsibility for your health outcomes, putting yourself in the drivers seat, recognizing only you will be living in your body will cause you to see healthcare in an entirely different light.
What are the immediate effects of the therapy advised?
What are the long term effects of that therapy?
Will the therapy serve to cover up and complicate my health?
Is the therapy promoting my personal health empowerment?
Have I already experimented with my lifestyle, nutrition, consistent physical exertion, sleep quality and thinking patterns?
The crowd is basing whether they will commit to the therapy off of “insurance coverage.”
A health accumulator makes the decision based off of health opportunity to be gained.
Which are you?

This is a reason to quit taking insurance.
